Summer Picnic Prep and Essentials

Nothing says summer like a picnic spread filled with refreshing, colorful fruits, lots of snacks and light bites to share. Picnics are also a great excuse to get outdoors and spend time with family and friends. I’ve made your picnic prep super easy by putting together a list of easy to transport picnic foods, essentials, and outdoor activities to have a stress free picnic!

Picnic Shopping List:

Fruit: Watermelon, strawberries, cherries, pears, peaches, raspberries, and blueberries.

Snacks: Crackers, tortilla chips, pretzels, vegan cheese dip (Simple N’ Good has tasty dips), marinated olives, pickles, nuts, and TOMA VIDA.

Dessert: Choose a premade dessert of your choice such as blueberry pie, cookies, cupcakes, brownies or muffins. If you’re feeling adventurous, try dessert hummus as a sweet dip for fruit.

Beverages: Water, sparkling water, lemonade, juice + your favorite beer and or wine.

Make your picnic as simple as possible by grabbing snacks and fruit at the grocery store so you don’t have to worry about preparing any food. Start with your favorite summer fruits, next are snacks, + a dessert of choice. TOMA VIDA is the perfect snack to bring to a picnic because it is tasty and refreshing! You can eat the TOMA VIDA with tortilla chips as a salsa or as a refreshing soup.

Picnic Essentials:

  1. Picnic blanket: Vintage tablecloths, blankets, or sheet.
  2. Picnic baskets: Any type of basket will do! You can also always use a cooler.
  3. Cutting boards: Since the ground can be uneven this works great as a stable serving surface.
  4. Flowers: Not necessary but they always brighten the mood!
  5. Glasses or cups: Plastic or paper cups work great as well as bottled drinks.
  6. Silverware + napkins: This is necessary for any meal-use disposable or regular.
  7. Paper or enamel plates: You can’t forget something to eat off of!

How to Find the Best Picnic Location + Fun Outdoor Activities:

When it comes to deciding on snacks or places to eat during your summer picnic, it can be a challenge to land on the choice everyone agrees on.  The best places to search for picnic areas is through parks, campgrounds, and public areas such as the beach. A great source for finding locations throughout the U.S is thepicnicworld.com/best-picnic-spots/. This website provides locations with descriptions on whether it is a park and all of the details such as playgrounds, pet friendly, gazebos, picnic tables, and trails. Some fun outdoor activities to pack on your picnic are volleyball, soccer ball, frisbee, kites, water balloons, ring toss, and race relays. The winning team gets to relax while the losing team has to clean up the picnic!

ENJOY your picnic!

With Pure Intentions,
